Final Presentation

Presentation Layout

I apologize for the crooked floor plans.  After I presented and had pulled the ceiling plans out from behind, the board came unpinned.

During Presentation

So happy to be done with not only my presentation, but the project as a whole!  I am very pleased with the way that it all turned out and I am so glad that I chose something that I am very passionate about to design.  I LOVE this project and I LOVE the final outcome!

It’s all in the Details

I couldn’t be happier with how the overall project turned out.  After uncountable sleepless nights and a lot of work, my senior project is done and ready for presentation.  I hope you all have enjoyed watching the project’s progress.  The images are produced using Autodesk Revit Architecture, Photoshop & InDesign.

I’m going to try and have someone film my presentation and I may be able to get that on here for you all to understand the process a little bit more in depth.

Thanks for following!

Functional Block Plans

Our final plan was due on Wednesday, and it took 5 block plans (15 floor plan drawings) to finalize a floor plan that I am not only passionate about and LOVE, but one that will function the absolute best for the users.

The final plan takes multiple factors into consideration in its design.

  • Safety
  • Codes
  • Space planning
  • User’s experience

Level 3: First Floor of the Dance Academy [Mostly Private]

Level 4: Second Floor of the Dance Academy [Equally Public & Private]

Level 5: Third Floor of the Dance Academy [Mostly Public]

After the parti charette, the concept was implemented into multiple block floor plans to configure the best layout and space planning of the spaces.  Once the basic layout of spaces was determined, I was able to embellish the wall placement/shape/form, ultimately enhancing the user’s experience.

Challenges encountered during this process:

  • Windows EVERYWHERE!
  • If not windows, then doors to balcony’s
  • Multiple stairways to accommodate and create paths to and from
  • Existing electrical and equipment storage
  • Unique Architecture
Challenges were overcome with careful thought and multiple iterations until a unique, exciting,  & functional floor plan was developed!

I apologize for the quality of the pictures, they are photos of the drafted floor plans.  I will be scanning the originals soon and posting better images.

Give me feedback!!!
