Final Presentation

Presentation Layout

I apologize for the crooked floor plans.  After I presented and had pulled the ceiling plans out from behind, the board came unpinned.

During Presentation

So happy to be done with not only my presentation, but the project as a whole!  I am very pleased with the way that it all turned out and I am so glad that I chose something that I am very passionate about to design.  I LOVE this project and I LOVE the final outcome!

It’s all in the Details

I couldn’t be happier with how the overall project turned out.  After uncountable sleepless nights and a lot of work, my senior project is done and ready for presentation.  I hope you all have enjoyed watching the project’s progress.  The images are produced using Autodesk Revit Architecture, Photoshop & InDesign.

I’m going to try and have someone film my presentation and I may be able to get that on here for you all to understand the process a little bit more in depth.

Thanks for following!

Just a Tease

Here is a teaser image to hold you over until Monday which is when I upload all of my final images to be turned in!

I cannot believe that I am this close to finishing and that all of this hard work has almost come to an end.  I am very satisfied with what I have produced for the Legacy Dance Academy, and I hope that you all enjoy it as well.

Final Cafe/Lounge

I know you all have seen this image already, but I can’t give away all of the good stuff just yet!

Stay posted for Monday!

Thanks for reading.

Practice Renderings

Dance Studio (11×17 Final)

This space represents what my facility is all about, therefore it will be one of two of my large perspectives in my presentation.  This is a practice rendering and draperies still have to be added.  The space will be much brighter after being rendered in the cloud and photoshopped.

Arrival/Reception (11×17 Final)

This space shows what you see when you enter the academy on the most public floor.  The final view will be slightly different, with sun shades added to the windows, base molding added to the walls and a soffit above the elevators with architectural lighting.  I am currently working on the view beyond this space and making sure it is illuminated enough to be visible and understood. This space is integral to the concept of the dance academy in that it communicates movement which enhances the main concept of unity.

Cafe/Lounge (8×10 Final)

This is the only space that has been sent to the cloud and photoshopped to be lightened up and to reflect the true materials and colors.  The only thing left to do to this space is to add people as scaled figures. Retail Store (8×10 Final)

Retail Store (8×10 Final)

This image is rendered only on draft to determine what time of day allowed the space to show up the best.  This gives you an idea of what is going on and objects will be inserted in using photoshop after it is rendered in the cloud.

Circulation Viewing Space (5×7 Final)

The circulation space will have tufted chartreuse seat cushions photoshopped in and will be lightened as well.

MakeUP Room (5×7 Final)

This image is not from the cloud, but has been sent but not photoshopped just yet.  The image will be lightened and accessories will be added using photoshop.

T.V. Room (5×7 Final)

This is a draft rendering of the space where the dancer’s guardians and family members can come and watch their practices through closed circuit cameras in the studios.  The image will be lightened in photoshop dramatically.  Check out that carpet pattern… it is from Shaw Contract Group.  I am happy with how it turned out.

Ceiling Plan

FF&E Selections

  • Architex Upholstery: Used on the Banquet Seats (You’ll see them in the newest design later)
  • White Wood Veneer Light fixture:  Used as pendants suspended through openings in the ceiling “cloud”
  • Small light Pendants: Used over the banquet tables
  • Steel Hardware: Used as drawer pulls on the cabinets (either one, I haven’t decided)
  • Coalesse Dining and Lounge Chairs:  Used for seating in the cafe/lounge
  • Pallas Upholstery: Used on the Coalesse Dining and Lounge chairs
  • Coalesse Table:  Used in a standard size as well as a smaller size to be used with the lounge chairs
  • Armstrong Striations Tiles: Used as the flooring in the cafe/lounge
  • Ice Stone Recycled Surface: Used as the counter top surface for the kitchenette
  • Jonsonite Laminate in Designer White: Used as the surface material for the cabinets in the kitchenette

   Cafe/Lounge Design Refined

***The Lighting shown in these images is obviously not the correct fixture that I have specified above.  The artichoke pendants are just place holders that will produce light in my Revit model.  The real fixtures will be Photoshoped in on top of these fixtures and an inner glow will be added to make the fixture itself look illuminated.

Changes that were made include:

  • The kitchenette has been reduced in size
  • Partition walls were added to contain the “space” of the kitchenette
  • Four sets of six foot long banquet seating have been added to increase the available seating
  • The ceiling “cloud” has been reduced to a single piece instead of two separate ones
  • More holes have been added which allows for more fixtures.
  • Architectural up-lighting will be introduced above the wall element that comes out over the banquet and kitchenette to add interest

The green line in the image shows where the flooring transition will take place.  The carpet tiles by Shaw Contract Group will be in the corridor and will transition into the Striations tiles by Armstrong in the cafe area.  The shape mimics the ceiling, further enhancing the concept of movement.
